My mother had a nursery school when I was little, so I have always been close to a teaching environment. When I was about five I remember teaching my dolls…
How many years have you been working in La Vall?
I started teaching in La vall in 1997. That’s a long time ago!
Are you happy working in La Vall?
I have been very lucky to be part of La Vall all these years. It is an amazing school and gives teachers the opportunity to develop all their skills.
How did you get to know La Vall?
I had friends that worked here or were parents.
Could you give us an example of a situation in which you dealt with a challenge and how did you overcome it?
When I started working in La Vall I had only taught English and they asked me to teach Science in English. At that time, there were not Science books in English and Internet didn’t exist, so I had to make up my own material… it was hard but really rewarding as the girls started to learn more and more English through science!
What is your greatest strength as a teacher? And your biggest flaw?
I think my strength can also be my flaw. I’m very demanding because I want my students to learn a lot and can’t accept them to waste time in my classes.
How is a normal day in your life?
The days I work I wake up really early as I like to get to school before the traffic gets worse. I like preparing the classes with time.

I used to be a tutor and really enjoyed it. It is nice being near the families and helping them in the growing process of their daughters.

My favorite subject is English. I have always liked the language very much.
Have your taught another subject in the past?
At the beginning of my career I used to teach Primary. So I used to teach all the subjects, but soon I became an English teacher.
What do you prefer, English or Science?
In fact I like them both, I can’t choose one as the two are very interesting.
Have you taught in another school?
Yes, in two more schools in Barcelona: Cor de Maria and La Salle.
What method do you use to do a class?
I like having the girls involved and busy. I ask a lot of questions and like them to be in pairs, as I believe that they learn a lot from each other. This year we have to be careful with the Covid but in general it is better to work in groups.
